Care:
- Avoid water: Skin doesn’t like getting soaked. If you get caught in the rain, dry it as soon as possible with a soft, dry cloth and let it air dry naturally.
- Cleaning: For light dirt, use a gently damp cloth. Never use strong detergents or solvents – natural leather loves dedicated products based on beeswax or lanolin.
Sunday Tip: If your leather jacket or bag becomes dull, wipe it with a bit of colorless leather balm – it’s like a moisturizing cream for your skin that restores its elasticity and shine.
Storage and drying:
- Away from heat: Never dry leather on a radiator or with a hairdryer. High temperatures make the leather harden and crack.
- Let it breathe: Store leather clothes on wide, shaped hangers (preferably soft ones!) to avoid deformation. Never keep them in plastic bags – leather needs air access.
- If you don’t wear it for a long time, stuff the bag or jacket sleeves with acid-free tissue paper to keep their original shape.
Remember – small wrinkles, veins, or uneven color are not flaws but proof of the naturalness and authenticity of the leather. Treat it with love, and it will accompany you for decades!
